Lost by Martin Hawkes

Lost

In the sun

on wind dried skin

in the iridescent green

of hopeful spring messages

in the potent blooming

of all that is new

still I long

for what

was

Martin Hawkes was born in Edinburgh and worked for several years as a sound engineer in London before graduating with an English literature degree. He now works as a builder/ designer living in Suffolk whilst trying to fit writing in between learning Greek, dinghy racing and playing guitar in a punk rock band.
