Selkie

keening of seals

drifts in through haar

between neap tides,

nacre-gleam of pale skin

trammelled by desire.

heavy limbs drag

trail of sand, scattered,

each swollen breath

waterlogged chest,

heart songs yaw north

dissolve into spoondrift,

amidst the wreckage of desire.
