A bad day

It is a good day to dry laundry:

a fresh wind blowing in from the east,

clouds withdrawing from the sky, and I watch clean socks

and uniforms billow on the line

while jets rehearse dry runs through the air,

a transport plane flies fresh supplies

to the front line. It is a good day

to dry laundry, check neighbours, feel turbulence.
